http://twitpic.com/2gjsql Breakfast Croissants & Milk Tea.

Happy Statehood Day!

Kelli has the state holiday off and she wanted some milk tea (like the bottled Japanese 'Royal Milk Tea').

I didn't want to pay for a bottle at Nijiya last night because it costs more than a half gallon of milk!  I told her I would just make it at home and here it is.

I steeped 1 tea bag of Tazo Brand Earl Grey in about 2 ounces of hot water with a teaspoon or so of sugar and a few drops of natural vanilla extract for about 3 minutes.

While the tea was steeping, I had a tumbler full of ice and some 2% milk super chilling in the freezer for a few minutes.

When the tea was ready I just poured the concentrated, lightly sweetened Earl Grey with vanilla over the icy cold milk.

Yum and not over sweetened like the bottled types.  :)

I think I want to make an iced cream in this flavor!
