For Mother's Day, my mom wanted to do her usual mother's day things, work on a house! She had these 2 guys working hard on flooring most of the day. I went over after picking up some cakes at Fendu Boulangerie in Manoa Market Place. Moved a couple dozen sheets of Wonderboard upstairs and stuff like that.
Lunch time came around & she sent me on the food run to L&L. We ate our plate lunches amidst all the construction dust & materials like any other mother would enjoy. :P
Later, we finally got to eat the cakes from Fendu Boulangerie. This time I chose a Tiramisu and 2 of their special bitter sweet chocolate desserts. They were all great, but I really liked the tiramisu!
In the evening we all gathered at my brother's house and had dinner. They wanted me to pick up dinner from Torito's Mexican Food in Market City, of all places! Anyway, I did. Picked up $130 of Mexican take out for dinner!! I couldn't believe it!
I also picked up a chocolate chiffon cake from Leonard's Bakery, but I forgot to take a photo of it. Anyway, the cake was amazingly inexpensive, $8, and they wrote "Happy Mother's Day" on it too!
What strange things do your families do for Mother's Day? :)

wow $130 of mexican food! sounds like you guys had a nice day together!
ReplyDelete@Kat I still am shocked at the Mexican food bill! I could have bought 250 tacos from Jack in the Box! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the quality of food for that price was better than eating the 250 from Jack's :)
